John K. Heisey
John Heisey has more than 17 years of experience in representing
hospitals, HMO's, physicians, dentists, podiatrists, and nurses in
Western Pennsylvania. He has handled hundreds of medical malpractice
cases, many of which have involved complex medical issues in the areas
of obstetrics, surgery, neurology and emergency medicine. He has
successfully tried numerous cases to verdict.
Mr. Heisey also serves as a consultant to hospitals on by-laws and
medical staff issues. He has organized and conducted in-service
programs for medical and nursing staffs on such subjects as informed
consent, right to die and other issues relating to risk management.
He has assisted administrative and medical staffs in the drafting of
hospital policies and procedures and has helped hospitals organize and
conduct community educational programs.
Mr. Heisey is an active member in the National Health Lawyer's
Association and Western Pennsylvania Association of Healthcare Risk
Management. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's
Health Care and Hospital Law Committee. He is a graduate of Penn
State University and is a 1978 graduate of Duquesne University School
of Law where he was Executive Comment Editor of the Duquesne Law
Review. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal
courts in Pennsylvania and is a member of the Allegheny County and
Pennsylvania Bar Associations.
